I have been asking myself this question a lot lately and I just don't know. I never thought I would want someone to give in and let go because they are sufferering all the time. It breaks your heart and it breaks your spirit.

What might be slight to one, profound to another. What might appear outwardly nominal, may be inherently significant. Oft mistaken for absolute fortitude or lack thereof, different injuries, loss, troubles, affect each person uniquely. I am not speaking of mere presumably trite insult or vague injury vs. outrageous harm, alone, but fact that people know well that the injuries and suffering of others sometimes far greater than anyone wish to acknowledge.
To those thinking it's some weakness, lack of character, self-pity, indolence, apathy, anhedonia or avolition, I suggest you further evaluate the subject of suffering, malady as infirmity, even reflect upon your own personal injuries if any. Age old nonsense, if I can do it anyone can do it, beyond merely absurd. If every individual were in fact the same, distinction as individuality would not exist.

Because everyone reacts to everything differently. Some people get over things easier then others do. Its not that some people suffer more, its just how everyone chooses to look at life. Some people could become depressed after the death of a loved one, or some people can realize that its life and what else can you expect, because you can only be as happy as you allow your self to be. And people need to understand not to torture themselves becuase the world will do it for them.

Sometimes it is the way the one suffering interprets their life, events, etc. and their manner of viewing the world. Some say life is suffering and living a life of detachment is how one overcomes suffering. Just a thought.

A lot of it is based on genetics, luck, how you were raised, and how healthy physically and mentally you are due to your past life or genetics. Its not right for anyone to suffer and I hope and pray medical technology will help cease a lot of that soon.

Sometimes some people have harder lives than others... I was never abuse or sexually abused and stuff like that.
Raised poor though and going through college. Unlike my friends, I never had enough money to go to spring break to some foreign country or other side of the US.

Some people are more aware of pain caused by certain situations.
For instance, some people find it unconscionable that thousand of children die everyday of starvation.others don't care.
It is the people that suffer that will make the difference.

It all depends on the persons personality and environment. Some people are open minded and brush things off where as others have low self esteem and hold onto things that hurt them, ect.
