Terry Sawchuck between the pipes with Doug Harvey and Bobby Orr on defense. I'll answer according to position for the forwards, Wayne Gretzky at center, Gordie Howe on the right with Bobby Hull on the left. If you are looking for the best 5 skaters, you could easily replace Gretzky, Howe with Gilbert Perrault at center, Guy Lafleur on the right, but Bobby Hull was still one of the best skating left wingers ever.

I'm gonna mix it up a little bit in the net and say George Hainsworth. Granted he didn't play a lot, but he is second on the all time shutout list with 94 (Terry Sawchuk has 103,) including a season where he had 22, and he only played half the games that Sawchuk did. After that, it's pretty much the norm, Orr and Harvey on defense, Orr being the best player in the game as an offensive defenseman, and Harvey being the best defensive defenseman. Gretzky, Howe and Bobby Hull up front, the best playmaker/scorer, the best blue collar hardworking player, and the best shooter. It doesn't get much better then that.

Patrick Roy in net, Bobby Orr and (either Borje Salming or Ray Bourque) on defense and Gretzky, Gordie Howe and Rocket Richard up front. That should win you a few games. I know Salming was not the greatest defenseman but probably the best at covering for his partner, would be the ideal guy to play with Orr who liked to run with it. Bourque was a lot better stay at home type d'man, but with the other 4, I don't think the other team is going to be getting the puck too often, so I'll go with Borje.

Roy in net. Best big game goalie of all time
Orr and Bourque on D. Best two way defense men.
Gretzky, Hull, Howe up front. Need to have a guy like Hull whocan shoot from distance and keep the defense honest.
