I eat at Wendy's about once a week, I think it is probably not the establishment, but more the help in general....it seems to be an issue almost every where you go, no one seems to care much anymore.

Wendy's doesn't care about your complaint, believe me, I have tried to complain several times. The best thing you can do is boycott the place. The funny part is, inside the restaurant, you can have all the ketchup you want. Heaven forbid you ask for BBQ sauce; that is the problem I have complained about in the past. It all depends who the cashier is. I can go a dozen times in a row and ask for BBQ sauce and get one (all I am asking for is one) no problem, and then you get a cashier who says, "That's 25 cents." Do they pocket the change, or is that a real price? I can't speculate. But here's the thing, whenever they do that, I say, "Give me ketchup." Whatever they give me, I ask for more, which they begrudgingly give to me. And here's where the company loses money. Having worked at a much higher quality fast food restaurant (In-N-Out Burger), we were trained that ketchup packets cost the company 3 cents a piece, so they told us to only give the customer what they need. Now I assume because Wendy's is a larger company they get their ketchup for 2 cents a piece, right? At the same time, the BBQ sauce cups are probably, and I am guessing here, maybe 10 cents a piece. So you can see why they don't want to give those out unless you get chicken nuggets, right? But here is where they are morons. When I ask for ketchup, in most cases without even asking they will give me 6 to 7 packets. At 2 cents a piece you are talking 12 to 14 cents, for which they get nothing. And when all I wanted was a 10 cent BBQ sauce cup, they end up giving me more and getting nothing in return. But if you ask for more, they will often give you (except in your case which is rare) 10-12 packets, sometimes without you even asking. So they just lost a whole lot more money and they also upset the customer; it's not rocket science, but hey, when they pay their shift managers 10 bucks an hour you end up with low quality employees who can't do the math and don't understand the bottom line. While you are at it, go pick up a copy of Fast Food Nation; chances are you won't want to keep shoveling their crap into your mouth anymore after that.

Yours is not an isolated experience, nor is it relegated to Wendy's Suffice it to say that unless you have a HS kid behind the counter, the person in question was not shall we say at the top of their class. Something is amiss if you are 30+ and working fast food. I had a similar experience with some miscreant at Subway tonight. The concept of "please don't heat my sandwich" was much to complex to be understood fully, until the third or fourth go-around.
I have given up on contacting corporate headquarters. In the end, you might get a free sandwich (BFD) and the person who performed poorly will move on to Quiznos or somewhere.

I haven't had any problems with Wendy's, except one time when I ordered 4 chicken nuggets. They thought I wanted only 4 nuggets in the box instead of five, when what I wanted was 4 orders.
I have had two problems with restaurants, one of which was resolved nicely.
The first one was at a Krystal restaurant. For those who don't know what Krystal is, or what they serve, think of White Castle. Almost the same thing. I waited a good 10 minutes for the cashier to take my order. She didn't even acknowledge me or anything. She acted like I and the other customers waiting to place orders were invisible. We all left.
The second time was at a Chick-Fil-A. I had ordered two Chick-Fil-A sandwich meals. I ended up with two chicken nugget orders. My roommate and I ate them, but I called the manager and told her to please make sure the drive-thru people double-check the orders and confirm w/ the customers at the window and make sure the right order goes to the right person. She apologized, and sent us coupons for two sandwiches, two chicken biscuits, and two ice cream cones.

Wendy's employees like to complain for some reason. I went there and ordered 20 of those dollar chicken sandwiches that cashier asked if I was crazy. I was kind of pissed to say the least. I left as they were making them just because I wanted to make them madder. Maybe it's the expectation that they don't have to work too hard that makes them lazy.

Most of the Wendy's are well run, but once and a while you get a bad one, one I went to in Memphis, was in terrible shape there was litter all over the place and they got the order wrong, we got spicy chicken sandwiches instead of plain ones, we didn't notice until we got back to the hotel. I wrote the head office and got no reply.

My mother told me that she would like a good old fasioned hamburger. So I went to Wendy's old fasioned juicy hamburgers and expected something fresh and hot and juicy. Needless to say, we got back two cold, dry and stale pieces of junk that must have been sitting under a heat lamp for about an hour. Its pretty bad when you have to gamble on whether you might get something fresh or at least get your money's worth. We never go to Wendy's anymore.

Until yesterday I hadn't been to a wendy's in years. i ordered the chicken filet. it was nasty.
yesterday i went to the vegan joint and I asked for extra saled dressing. the lady told me that my dressing was in the box. I said i know 1 is in there but I need another. The way she reacted was like i asked her to scrub my toilet.
Several months ago I went to kentucky fried chicken. I orderd the 6 strips. I asked for BBQ sauce. The lady gave me 3. I was like what I ordered 6 strips so I need 6 BBQ sauces 1 for each strip. You would have thought I had asked her to make it herself. One day fast food restaurants will charge extra for ketchup.
Don't even think of asking for ketchup for a to go order at in and out burger.

I haven't eaten at Wendy's in a while, but I've had this happen in a BK. I tracked down and wrote their corporate headquarters(its in Florida), and told them of the problem. Several weeks later I got a call from the regional Manager, who apologized, and asked me if I ever had a problem again to please contact him. He must have gotten a reaming from corporate. He sent some freebie coupons, which I used at another BK.

Well at least a finger didn't appear in your soup.
I hate when they don't provide enough ketchup now everywhere i go i ask for extra stuff and just stash it in my car or home. I usually throw it away if I don't use it for over a month but then i keep getting more when i go to any fast food restaurant.
