i have the collection, released so far, from both mints and on my washington coin from the philly mint the edge lettering is upside down. for the rest of the set the front, presidents bust, has to be "out" for me to read it. washington's coin the bust has to be "in" to readthe edge lettering. is this really an error or something else?

The coins are struck first, then the edge lettering is put on. They just send them through, so some have the lettering one way and some the other, when you dump a hopper of coins into a machine one has no control what side is up or down. In one roll I had 11 one way and 14 the other so it is not an error. Now on the proofs, in the proof sets things are done differently and they should all be the same way.
