Is there a difference?

Between HIGH SCHOOL ENGLISH TEACHER and HIGH SCHOOL LITERATURE TEACHER. I need to know. Please.

I think English is more like Grammar....parts of speech...mechanics....and Literature....is reading works by famous authors and studying them. I teach first grade so I may be mistaken.

i would assume that a hs english teacher will deal with grammar and usage and a lit teacher will deal with the reading of novels and stories... if i were to stay
