Ha. I don't scold my kids for burping. I just ask that they cover their mouths. It has to come out somehow!

Well, if they can actually remember being burped then they probably have the brains for us to explain the reasoning behind it. And even if they can't remember being burped, I'm pretty sure they would still understand. Kids are smart.

At around age three my oldest got it, and he says "excuse me" when he burps. He's even mastered the closed mouth, super quiet burps by age 4. He's confused when his younger siblings burp out loud and don't get in trouble. It's all confusing I think!

Good point!
...My brother was holding his baby boy above his head, giving him the 'Coochy-coo' type baby talk; baby had just had a belly full straight from darlin' Mummy. He promptly vomited the entire contents of his stomach, mostly into my brothers open mouth!! ...(Just thought I'd share that happy memory with you!!!) xx

good point but that is one of the mysteries of parenthood. Also i remember as babies i couldnt get them to eat their food or stay in their beds in the morning until a decent time. Now they are teenagers they eat me out of house and home and stay in bed till noon!!
