Memory on electronic storage devices is measured in bytes, or in larger units such as kilobytes (kB), megabytes (MB), or gigabytes (GB). Suppose a floppy disk has a memory capacity of 1440 kB.

a - If a CD (compact disc) has a memory capacity of 600 MB, then compared to the floppy, how many times as much memory capacity does the CD have?

b - If a DVD (digital video disc or digital versatile disc) has a memory capacity of 4.7 GB, then compared to the CD, how many times as much memory capacity does the DVD have?

i would really appreciate the help...thanks so much!!!

FYI,
1 MB = 1024 kB
1 GB = 1024 MB
all u have to do is just convert the units to proper unit, then devide the larger capacity by the smaller capacity.
okay, let's do it...
A.
convert CD capacity to kB, because Floppy disk cap. is in kB.
600 MB = 600 x 1024 kB
= 614400 kB
then devide the CD cap. by Floppy disk cap.
614400/1440 = 426.67
it means a CD has 426.67 times more cap then floppy disk

B.
convert DVD capacity to MB, because CD cap. is in MB.
4.7 GB = 4.7 x 1024 MB
= 4812.8 MB
then devide the CD cap. by Floppy disk cap.
4812.8/600 = 8.0213
it means a CD has 8.0213 times more cap then floppy disk

i hope it helps...
