a - If a CD (compact disc) has a memory capacity of 600 MB, then compared to the floppy, how many times as much memory capacity does the CD have?

b - If a DVD (digital video disc or digital versatile disc) has a memory capacity of 4.7 GB, then compared to the CD, how many times as much memory capacity does the DVD have?

k = 1000 and M = 1000000 so 1000 kB = 1 Mb and 600 Mb = 600 x 1000 or 600000 Kb. Divide 600000 by 1440 and you'll get it.
