I got a french manicure or whatever they call it today. He put really long fake nails on and then cut them down and filed them. He then painted the tips white per my request (i'm looking for ideas of different ways to have my nails for my wedding) and put tons of top coat on, it's just thick on top of my nails. I've never had any sort of acryllics put on before so I'm not sure i like it, it's still a bit too heavy and long for my liking I think, and makes it hard for me to do the day to day things with awkward nails sticking out. I'm thinking I may go have them removed by the end of the week. Is there any problem in doing that or do I have to wait a certain amount of time? What is the process they use to remove them? Will there be any damage to my natural nails when the fake is removed? I will be finding a different salon to take them off, everyone in this place was chinese and I already couldnt hardly understand them. Any good ideas on a good wedding day nail style?

He shouldn't have put "tons of top coat on" because this way, it looks too thick and unnatural. One coat of top coat will do. If it's too heavy, then that means that he didn't do the filing and application correctly. If he didn't file it correctly, then the edges of your nails will be filled with water when you wash and stuff. That causes the acrylic to "lift" and the nail will eventually fall off. If you want to take it off, you will have to wait about a week or a week and a half because it'll be easier to take off. Your nails may be damaged underneath, so you might want to get your acrylic nails done for the wedding because the appearance might not be pleasant. They take them off by cutting your nails as short as possible and soaking them in acetone. Then they will slowly drill the solution off. It doesn't hurt if they do it correctly. Ask the new manicurist to make you acrylic nails that are "V-shaped" instead of french tip(it's like a "v" at the bottom of your nail). Then put a white rhinestone in the middle of the v. That always looks elegant for any occasion. Good Luck. I hoped I helped.
