i think they might be worth something.

if you know anything, i can post more information about the books.

i believe they are first editions. the first one that i have may be ruined because of writing in ink on one of the pages. however, my chamber of secrets is in good condition, and this is what it says on the inside-

10 9 8 7 6 5 9/9 0/0 1 2 3 4
printed in the u.s.a. 37

it is 1999 version

Why would they be valuable collectibles? Tons of people have that book. You can get them at Walmart for 8 dollars a piece. It won't be years and years until they're worth a bit more.

seeing as they haven't been reprinted yet, any Harry Potter book on the market is a first edition. so look at the back cover and divide that prince in half and that is about all it is worth. i would keep them for as long as you can and get the entire collection. that way, some 30-50 years from now when they aren't as popular and have been reprinted they will be worth even more. especially if you have the jacket covers.

Call a local bookstore that specializes in rare books and discuss this subject with the owner. He/She can advise you as to whether your volumes are worth keeping. What editions are they? This has a great bearing on their value; since millions were printed, most are worthless as collector's items.

Unless they are First Editions or special Limited Editions or are signed by the writer, your Harry Potter books are probably worth what you paid for them.

Looks like anywhere from $5.60 to $112.00 depending on the quality of the book, according to Amazon dot com.
