Your school seriously has nothing else for you to do other than be a gofer in the office for three hours? There aren't any college classes you can take at the Community College that your school would be willing to allow you to take? Where I live a lot of the schools will do that for those students who are ahead in their credits. I mean at least you could start to get some college credits, right? See if you can't talk to someone about this as an option. Or maybe there are some more "elective" classes you can take to get out of sitting around and making copies. You need an academic challenge more than anything else. What about an internship? Sheesh, the school should be able to work with you on this.

You might be annoyed but here is the reason. The state provides financial backing to a school district for every student who actually attends. You must attend for more than half the day for your district to count you as present for the day and to receive the aid. Therefore, you are there. The three hours of office work can be claimed as productive as you are gaining experience in office procedures.

If thats the policy of your school, there is not much you can do. But you can volunteer in other departments, and get some experience in other feilds, like the gym, library, health office, cafeteria, or tutor some others who are not as fast at learning everything . I think your time will not be a waste, it will be productive time for all. You will find more to learn, there is always more.

Would it make me mad... Yes, probably... in a way... But then I know it's school rules that requires the school not to let you out of the building till everything's done for the day...
I say what you should do is either take some study hall's... or some fun classes... because I'd not be the one who'd want to be the office runner... all day... and not get work done...

Yes, it would be very upsetting. You either except, and learn patience, tolerance and other of the many of life's lessons. If that still will not do, I would advice you to write, or call your school administrator, trustee,or who ever is in charge of your School Board and let them know how you feel about this unfair situation. Let your parents speak to them too. Tell them that it sounds like you are being punished for doing good, and you are going to speak to the School Labor Board about this. Remind them that you will need plenty of money to enter College and you could use a paying job, and if they are not going to pay you, you would like to use your 3 hours free to do work at a paying job.
Good Luck..

While that does stink, I guess you've got to live with it. Ask them instead of doing office work if you could quietly do your homework in the library, or take a fun class. You don't hafta do office work! Take a diffrent class, just for fun, or do hw, or read, practice draing or an instrument, or even a sport. All within scholl grounds -.~

Yes, it would piss me off. I would ask about leaving school to do an internship or attend college. Keeping you on campus for non-credit, non-pay busy work sounds like b.s. to me. I'd talk to your local college admissions office and see if they can help you out. I started college when I was still in high school, it's possible.

Are they paying you for those three hours?
I'd report that fifteen hours of forced labor to the labor board in your state and demand some restitution. You are owed minimum wage at the very least. I'd also get ahold of the local clerical workers union that represents your school (could be AFSCME, they generally represent those typpes of jobs)...I'm fairly certain that they'd be extremely interested in your case.

Intern work. At the highschool I went to you only had to do that if you were in SOS, which was for kids who were behind. IF you were ahead like you, they let you leave early, no problem. Sorry to hear they are giving you the shaft.
