How do you think your level of attractiveness affects things like:

Your employment and career sucess?
Your success in romantic relationships?
How many freinds you have?
How people percieve and treat you?
How you feel about yourself?

I ask because I've been reading about lookism, discrimination based on physical appearence. And studies seem to demonstrate that being beautiful gives you an edge in most any aspect of life, from how much you make at work to how much attention and affection you recieve from your parents. Do you see the effects of lookism in your own life?

To say that attractiveness, as you put it, isn't important, would be a mistake.

One needs to project a good appearance for any of the above to fall into place.

The only thing I find boring is attractive looking people with no personality.

Sometimes a good personality can trump attractiveness.

The world is full of good looking and boring people today.

Once it was full of unique people, some of which were very attractive.

This change may be a result of the importance of making changes and the prevalence of many medical innovations.

It's easier to be successful if you're attractive. Even if you're not the brightest bulb in the chandelier, you can get others' attention just because you're eye-candy.

However, those who are not so blessed can still be successful if they have brains, a kind but quick sense of humor, empathy, discipline, and determination. And ultimately, if you want to achieve the highest levels of business or social influence, these will out pace looks any day.

Everything you say is true except if that pretty girl has a nasty attitude things change except for the male attention. Also for the male if he is witty and smart his looks don't matter as much. As for me I did really well in all areas except sister never gave me credit for anything. She made me feel bad about myself growing up and in early twenties.
