Polls can be misleading. Is this 1/5th of ALL Americans? Including the ones that are under 8 years of age, have mental disabilities or have immigrated from other countries? This poll doesn't specify how many people they asked either. I have a feeling that this is very misleading.

Why would they know? I mean, they can bomb every country, control the world and so on. Just kidding. :) American educational system is really bad, they learn nothing but to skip classes, be a rugby player or a cheerleader. You'd be surprised if you knew how actually stupid they are. President Bush doesn't even know where Brazil is...LOL. Anyways, you can watch video...

Education and attitude. My Canadian son's Virginian girlfriend is an excellent example. Amazingly little knowledge of the world - especially Canada .... as if US schools assume all Americans know where they are... and assume everyone else knows all about them. They (Americans) do not need to know where they are, geographically because it does not matter to them. When you grow up to believe you are the center of the world, you assume your location is everyone else's problem.

Probably because people are dropping out of school left and right (that probably makes up for 20% of those that cannot find it). As for the other 80% I will accredit this to immigration and bad parenting

because we are all clueless and self centered. People care more that Owen Wilson attempted suicide instead of what's really going on in the world.
