I'm going to remove my ac from my car since i never use it. just wondering though if my heater will still work if i remove the ac. I need the heater to work to remove some heat from the engine bay.

I'm ditching the air condition to save some weight. I hear it the whole assembly is around 50lbs. I drive a supra btw and Im not going to sell it so I dont care for value or I'll just keep al the AC parts if i want to put it back. Plus I dont even really know if my AC works.

If you are talking about the compressor , Removing that will not stop heat, hope this helps

No, It will not make your heater stop working. There are a lot of parts to the A/C system though, and if you are wanting to take it all out it is quite a job. There is the pump driven by belts mounted onto the engine, there are parts up front that look like a radiator, there are parts under the dash too. And of course there are hoses going between all these. If you are trying to save weight, maybe for racing? then you could probably save 40-50 lbs depending on what kind of car it is.

Heater will keep working unless you remove the blower motor or controls for the HVAC system. If you want to save a little weight just remove your compressor (the most heavy part of the system) and cap off the lines; assuming your car does not use a serpentine belt.

Wow some one who want's to make there car unsellable? Leave the evaporator case in place and remove the belt to the compressor and hoses condencer. I cannot even guess where there is no need for quick demist the whindshield. Here In Texas we use A/C 9 months a year.

50 lbs on a Supra?? I'd bet weight savings do not come anywhere near that... Gas mileage savings?? won't be much...

you'ld be better off adding a injector intake spacer to increase the horsepower and just leave the AC unit in place when its turned off it doesn't detract from the vehicles horsepower (unless the compressor bearing is bad)

yes it will still work ... but why would you remove the ac unless its not working then it would only depreciate the value of the car nothing more
