Yea, sure, fighting terrorism is a good idea too, and really if while we're over there we can shoot an Al-Qaeda member or two, good for us. But please don't be fooled, this is not why our nation entered this war.

Being that all of these responses occurred shorter than 45 minutes after the question was asked I'm trusting all of you watched it.

Seriously, watch it and then give me an opinion. And if you're feeling really ambitious go ahead and read about peak oil under the second link. Stop wasting your time and mine.

While it may not be entirely about oil, oil was a major factor in the planning of the invasion. The only 'asset' to be fully protected when Baghdad was entered was the Iraqi Oil Ministry and war planning by the Administration envisaged the sell-off of Iraq's state-owned oil resources at knock down prices to foreign interests to "pay for the war'. Even the Iraqis balked at that one! And Haliburton was lined up with promises of lucrative contracts - Cheney wouldn't forget his buddies in the oil industry. Bush friends in Big Oil had everything to gain from access to vast reserves in Iraq so cheap to extract they could undercut OPEC and restore American control of oil pricing.

If it's about oil, it's the damned stupidest way anyone could have dreamed up to get it. Would have been far cheaper to just buy it. No, you're mistaken.

Don't need to watch your video. Stop wasting OUR time.

The war is NOT about oil and when will you admit to this fact? Don't believe all you read and give this country more credit for voting for someone with some intelligence. Mr. Bush is no one's puppet!

If it were really all about the oil, why didn't they just listen to the vast majority of Alaskans and open ANWR?
