My closet isn't that organized lol, but I usually try to keep it organized by item, not color.

i organize by season, item, style, and color. i am a little OCD about clothes! all my jeans and my husband's jeans have to be folded with the right back pocket out so i can tell which pair is which. shirts are in a certain order according to sleeve length and shade and such. skirts and dresses are according to length and season...
man i have to get some medication for this weirdness!

i do my closet by color like all brown shirts then all brown pants so i can coranate by closthes by just looking in the closet keep all of one color items together then move to next color items

Both kind of.... I sort by item, all skirts together, pants together, long sleeve shirts, short sleeve shirts etc. Then in each group I put them in the same rainbow arrangement, with white and black first.
so it goes like this
Skirts
black, white, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple
then Pants
black, white, red, orange, etc.
then shirts and so on.

by item, because color is so much harder to find the type of clothing you want, but u would be blind to not see the color

Item its less confusing but even when I do it by item I have like darker shades on one side lighter shades on the other.
