My sister lives in Temecula.
I don't have a choice at this point. A place is waiting for me in Hemet... Yeah, hot is okay for me, moving from N Y and the weather is already changing. I want my extended summer.

I have lived in Hemet for 20 years. First, it was a big time retirement town, so there are lots of seniors and many come in the winter, our 'snowbirds'. They drive like seniors - slow, cautious, and sometimes oblivious to everything else on the road. Now theres lots of young people and they drive very fast, so the traffic can get interesting. Yes, its hot here, today it got up to 109. The biggest employers in the area are the hospital, the schools, the water district, and related employers. There are lots of retail jobs if you look around. Hemet is finally getting some decent restaurants, the latest being Mimi'sCafe. The local college, Mt San Jacinto, has great course offerings. The mall is very small, most people drive to Temecula, Moreno Valley, or beyond for shopping. Entertainment tends to be limited, probably the biggest complaint in the valley. The Ramona Bowl (home to the official California outdoor play - 84 years and counting!) has theater productions throughout the year - check them out at ramonabowl.com. There is a few places with karaoke, some bars that have live bands on the weekends, but not much in the way of nighttime entertainment. The local mountains offer great hiking and camping and the beach is only 1 1/2 hours away. Welcome to the valley!
