Chances of conceiving with only one fallopian tube? As long as your ovary(ies) are working well, pretty much the same chances of conceiving with 2 fallopian tubes. Trust me, this I know from experience.

I had 2 tubes when I conceived my first child. It took me 2 months of trying to conceive. Then, when he was 1 year old, I had to have emergency surgery to remove 1 of my ovaries and 1 of my tubes due to a massive cyst. I was left with only 1 ovary and fallopian tube. 3 years later we started trying again. After 2 months we conceived. Unfortunately we suffered a miscarriage at 11 1/2 weeks. A month after that we started trying again. Sure enough, 2 months seems to be our magic number, as we conceived our daughter.

As long as you are healthy, I see no reason why you can't conceive, even with only one tube. If you are concerned though, consult your doctor. There are tests he can do which can determine how well you are ovulating and whether you need any intervention. I didn't need intervention, one tube did the trick for me.

Good luck to you.

I have a blocked tube on one side and open tube on the other side for 1.7 years with no sucess. I am 34 and my ovaries are fine and I even tried injections/clomid and IUI and no success cause the ovary on the open tube side did not respond. RE believes that I have to go to IVF. So if you have been trying for a while with no sucess, then you may need to see a RE to maybe give you some meds to make you ovulate on the open side.

Actually your chances are only slightly less than other healthy 39year olds. When you ovulate it is actually possible for the good tube to pick up the egg even if the egg is released from the opposite ovary.

It's rare, but possible. My cousin's wife has 1 ovary and was on birth control when she got pregnant with their daughter.
