Did you know that there is a new type of breast cancer that is called Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC)?? This is a type of breast cancer that's found without a lump, but the most classic symptoms are: rapid increase in breast size, reddness, skin hot to the touch, persistant itching, and thickening of breast tissue. If you have any of these symptoms PLEASE visit your doctor immediately! Most physicians have never had a patient with this type of cancer, and even the cancer centers didn't know about it, but I was just e-mailed a video clip about 5 women who had it and were told that it was probably a mosquito bite. One girl was 16 and had it and she died. She was too embarrassed to tell her mom that her breast looked "funny". If any of you would like to see that clip, please let me know and I will e-mail it to you. Women everywhere need to be alerted to this info.

Anyone know anything else about this cancer?

Ridges and thickened areas of the skin

What appears to be a bruise that does not go away

Nipple retraction

Breast is warm to the touch

Breast pain (from a constant ache to stabbing pains)

Change in color and texture of the areola

Actually, I heard about this form of breast cancer a few months ago. Because it is more rare than the traditional forms of breast cancer (only 1-5% of breast-cancer patients have Inflammatory Breast Cancer), medical companies don't think it is worth spending all the money creating drugs for IBC, and therefore it is not known to many and is funded rather poorly. Symptoms include redness, warmth, swelling, bruises, and the skin may seem to have ridges and be pitted like the skin of an orange. It is extremely important that if you have these symptoms you tell a parent or your doctor about this as soon as possible, don't be shy. It can be diagnosed with a mammogram, biopsy, and ultrasound. However, mammograms do NOT always detect IBC.

Yes I have a Friend who died of it. She was prescribed a cortisone cream for the itchiness and told to put an icepack on her breast for the pain... They told her she was too young and that cancerous tumors in the breast didn;t "hurt" or cause swelling. When she returned because it got worse they perscribed her antibiotics saying it had to be an infection. 4 months and 4 doctor visits later she was finally diagnosed and was stage 4 and died within 3 more months.
To the woman who posted above, NO IT IS NOT A SCAM, I did not have it but I lived with her through this and it was horrible and very very real

That is not a new type of breast cancer. It's been around a long time. A very long time. And if the doctor is an oncologist, they most certainly have seen patients with this disease.
Here is the IBC Foundation website----the foundation was founded in 1996:

Thanks for the warning, but this could definitely be a scam. I have heard lots of these new types of breast cancer things, and they are usually a scam, so try to do some research on it first!
