Man I HOPE not. It was a BIG DEAL in 2000- & LOOK what we ended up with! We don't need a "religious" person in the Whitehouse- we need someone who knows WHAT they're doing. It's time we started removing the "scales from our eyes" -& let "Caesar be Caesar". God will take care of the rest. :)

Yes, religion, for the majority of people, is a factor in voting I believe. If you live in the South you will be asked, with every new face you meet- "what church do you go to?" Depending on your answer - you may or may not be spoken to by the person again. Still- I love the South.

Yes. The religion of candidates has been a factor for decades, long before the religious right existed.

The 'wingers and their disgusting 'swift-boat navy' are already hard at work trying to smear Sen. Obama because his dad and stepdad were muslim.....they apparently believe that kind of below the belt BS is going to earn them some traction. The 'official' GOP won't bring this up, but like the swift-boating of Sen. Kerry they sure won't make any effort to stop it.

I don't think so. Candidates have been blatantly lying about their spirituality for 200 years- hopefully by now everybody realizes that going to church in a commercial doesn't make you a good christian anymore than sticking feathers up your butt makes you a chicken.

Unfortunately yes. Republicans are reluctant to nominate Mitt Romney in spite of his impressive record balancing budgets as governor and sound market-incentive based economic program. Meanwhile, Democrats are falling over each other trying to prove they are more Christian than the next guy so they can improve their image among church goers. The whole spectacle is enough to make one disgusted with American politics.

Nope, not at all. Their take on politics and their plans of action on what to do with the mess we're in are definetely number one with me at least.
BTW you dont need religion to be a moral person.

Why does it matter, it is not like your votes actually mean anything in the presidential elections.
