"If I need my serpentine belt replaced can I just take it to an auto parts store like Checker and will they be able to do it on the spot"

They might if it has a spring loaded tensioner. A manually adjusted one is more complicated.

usually it's only a 10 minute job that you can do yourself, just follow the belt routing pattern thats under the hood of your car on the fenderwell or radiator support and get a wrench or cresent wrench to pry the tensioner up to release the belt so you an take it off.

Small cracks interior the ribs do not mean something. they are present on any belt interior 2 or 3 yearsI lacking chunks or frayed edges are undesirable warning signs. I did mine at approximately ninety,000 miles in spite of the undeniable fact that it grew to become into not undesirable.. it must be on your maintenance time table.

Don,t know Checkers but if they work on cars then yes they can it a simple job it won't take long at all, hope this helps,
