It took two people for the pregnancy to occur. The woman and man made their choice, and in turn should be able to live with the possible consequences of their actions. I think that men have just as much a right to the child as does the mother. If it wasn't for both people the woman would not be pregnant.

Many women say, it is a woman's body and thus her choice. This, except for rape cases, is crap. That woman already made her CHOICE, when she had sex. People need to learn that they are RESPONSIBLE for their actions. The argument about choice, is in fact a null arguement. You made a choice and took a risk, live with it.

Lastly, the child is innocent. There is no reason to harm any innocent person, regardless of age. And no, I am not a religious nut. In fact, I am pretty much atheist. So that has nothing to do with my anti-abortion stance.

I would like to respond to a few of the statemens so far.

Xg6, I do not believe men should have a right to force women to an abortion. As I said, it comes down to responsibility. Men AND Women are responsible for their actions.

Now to tianjian_8.

I know that the fetus makes itself known to the woman. With the exception of caes where the woman's life is at risk, that does not change my mind. The woman made a choice and needs to live with it.

I do not doubt that there are more deat beat dads than mothers. I would bet though, that part of the cause of this is women almost always get custudy. It is kind of hard to be a dead beat when, if you deserve it or not, you have custody.
You mention to look at this from a different prospective. I do that in everything I do, and even more so when I don't agree with the person I am talking to. From either point of view, I think that my stance would help the other sex. Either way, both the mother and father are responsible.

Agreed that it takes two to tango. But get this, men are far less interested in the life of the child than women. You know how I know? Two things, first they don't get pregnant. Do you think that the fetus inside the woman doesn't make its life known to the woman? It does. Some choices are brutally difficult to be make, and I hope you never have to make that decision for yourself (oh, wait you never will, so why are we talking?). Two, as an attorney who does child support cases I see one dead beat mother for every one hundred "dads." None of them is capable of making a proper choice now, so its difficult to see how they did at the time of conception, not to mention the involvement of drugs, alcohol, peer pressure. Here is the bottom line, dude. Try walking a mile in someone else's shoes before casting stones and don't get pregnant (oh that's right you can't, so you don't have to worry about it).

It takes two people -- the 'father' and the 'mother' -- to create the pregnancy (other than in artificial insemination cases). Either of them can refuse to be part of the process.

It takes two -- the 'mother' and the unborn -- to continue the pregnancy. Either of them can refuse to be part of the process.

By your line of thinking, it would also mean if the woman wants the baby and the man does not, then he has the right to force her to have an abortion.

I really wish more people thought that way. I agree with you 100%.
