NOTE he did say in each conference not division so yeah....- you are RIGHT in saying what you did but still stop being so darn smart....
EAST:
Ottawa Senators- Unlike the Bolts Ottawa has a big three AND a team behind them. Their top D pairing is decent and Emery is solid in net. There is a reason they made it to the Cup Finals. They may be Toronto's rivals but I have to admit they are one heck of a team.
New York Rangers- They made some huge improvements but the money they spent is disgusting. But hey Jagr, Gomez, Drury, Shanahan, Avery and Straka? Honestly I can't say much about their D- it looks bad to me but who cares when they have offense like this? Lundqvist is no pushover and Montoya(back up) might shape up too.
Pittsburg Penguins- God help us in a couple of years. If they can hold this young core together.....sob. They have an awesome mix of veterans and youth. Crosby, Malkin, Staal, Whitney, Fleury + Sykora, Roberts, Recchi, Gonchar. I refuse to watch any Leafs/Pens games. They will probably lead the way in goals this year- or get really close.
In response to whoever put the Bolts in the top 3.
Yes they have The Big Three but we are talking TEAMS here not just players. They could be considered if their goaltending was a wee bit better.
West:
The Red Wings-
The Wings are the Western Conference staple. Zetterberg, Datysuk, Holmstrom, Lidstrom, Rafalski and the Dominator. Need I say more?
Ducks- Will they be good as last year? I don't think so. Could they still spank most teams in the NHL- quite likely. Kunitz, McDonald, Penner, Getzlaf and Perry are great players with lots of promise. I hesitated to include the Ducks first because they could lose Selanne and Niedermayer. But Ducks GM Burke has already softened the blow by picking up Schneider to replace Niedermayer and Niedermayer is talking about coming back.... add that to Beauchemin and Pronger. If Nieds' comes back thats FOUR first pairing defensemen. The loss of Selanne is the big question mark here. If he leaves Getzlaf or Perry could pick up the slack but thats a lot of IF.
Vancouver- LUONGO IS A WALL! I REPEAT LUONGO IS A WALL. The Sedins are good- Bieksa and the Van D will help support the arguably best goalie in the league. But then again the west is wide open and full of pretty good teams. But Vancouver is a sure thing.

All the first three answers are wrong.
Drax put San Jose and Anahiem in the top 3 for the west. They are in the same division, therefore, cant be in the top 3 together.
Tom put Colorado and Minnesota are in the same division, so the same thing applies about them being in the same division. Even if it were possible, minnesota would make the top 3 . ever.
Seeing the first 2 people do it wrong, why not make it 3. Jonathan made 2 mistakes. Pittsburgh and the Rangers in the east. Both in the same division. And then once again Anahiem and San Jose are both put in the top 3, cmon people get it right, they're in the same division. IT CANT HAPPEN.
for my guess i would say
EAST:
1. Ottawa
2. Rangers
3. Tampa Bay
WEST
1. Detroit
2. San jose
3. Calgary
Soo many more people continue to put two teams from the same division in the top 3, IT CANT BE DONE PPL.... ugh ...
Brichards19, lol well i think they will beat out Atlanta and Carolina this year ...
