My husband and I have been married for 5yrs. He is Black I'm Mexican. When we first started dating I would notice the dirty looks, the disgusted stares and even the rude comments. Now I guess I'm used to it. I don't pay attention anymore. I love my husband and he loves me, so to hell with what other people think!! As long as we're happy they can all take a long walk off a short pier!!!

I don't think the majority of Americans look down upon interracial marriage and dating.
Where I live, I've seen a lot of interracial couples, and I've never seen anyone giving them awful looks. I guess that means I'm lucky b/c I wish to date outside of my race. =)

I live in a VERY conservative area of the country. Suprisingly, there are lots of 'mixed' couples. While I'm sure they may get their share of bad vibes from people, in public, no one seems to much care.
I'm wondering if it's a regional thing. For instance, in El Paso TX, bi-racial couples is more the rule than the exception (this includes asians also).
Maybe those people who are giving you disguisted looks are just sad, mean sobs that give everyone that mean look cause it's the only one they have. Possible?

People in general are just nosey! If they wouldn't do it they think that no one else should! Who cares what they think. I think that interracial couples are fine and if my parents wouldn't have been in an interracial relationship I wouldn't be here, I wouldn't look the way I look and I probably wouldn't think the way I think! I love being me and I'm glad they had me!!!

I can't say the majority agree with it, but people aren't discriminating against such couples very much anymore. It's actually fairly common to see interacial couples now.

Oh my god, thats terrible- you HAVE to ignore them totally. I am happy you have a lovely man, regardless of what he looks like, its not important.
Its an american thing (see my previous question about racism in america- yesterday) Here in AUstralia, no one would look at you guys differently, we just aren't like that.

They are jealous!!
I never understood why other people care with whom you are sleeping with.
If you are a white man who does not date black women or vice versa, that is perfectly fine. But why would you care if another white man dated a black woman? Does this interfere with your life? I don't get it!!!

Not in Canada. Interacial dating is the norm in Canada.
The average person has dated other people from at least 3 different ethnic backgrounds
