Isn't the whole purpose of having men and women's restrooms to keep the sexes seperated so that they can be somewhat comfortable while they perform their bodily functions? So why wouldn't the government be interested in protecting everyone's comfort by requiring restrooms for gays?

I'm very surprised that the: "You left the seat up" crowd is so liberal about sharing the bathroom with men. Apparently they've never been in a truck stop men's room, or a stadium men's room at halftime.
The rest of you can take a jump.

You homophobes really make me sick! And when it all comes down to it atleast half of you homophobes are closet cases that don't realize it! EXCUSE MY LANGUAGE BUT YOU'RE THERE TO PISS AND GET OUT. Why does everything have to be a big fvckin deal.
Think about it you idiot WHO is comfortable in a public bathroom? Do you actually think they are when some of them know they are being criticized?
NO ONE should have to deal with people like you dishing out tons of hatred, I'm glad I didn't have to deal with what my family did growing up, and they and I wouldn't wish it on anyone again, but there will always be inconsiderate @ssholes like you to keep hate alive.

dont you think it would be easy for some homophobes to go into the gays bathroom and harm someone. you have to think of the groups of men and women who would love to be able to corner 'a gay'. anyhow are you going to keep paying taxes so that the gov. can employ some bathroom watcher specially equip with gadar. another thing you should think about is as a woman we have private stalls so there is no way not to be comfortable while we perform our bodily functions. and as for guys who ever is that insecure can choose to pee or do whatever behind the closed door of a private stall- the last time i was in a male bathroom there were stalls as well as the hanging in the wall urinals (i think thats what theyre called)

They will turn them into something purely for sexual purposes, and why should the government be part of that? They should go the other way and refuse to allow them to use bathrooms which are only for straight people. So when ever they are found inside of a rest room arrest them and charge them till they figure it out and stay home with their perversions Kids have to use these places and I don't want any of them around the kids!

Whoooooaaaa. Lets think a few decades back to segragation, shall we?
Were all of the laws that were implemented for civil rights in vain?
Making separate restrooms for gay people would just cause for more hate in the world. It would exclude them from the norm, and there are many gays that live like perfectly normal, average people: so stop thinking otherwise!
Also, building separate restrooms for gays would cut into the resources that we already take from the earth. No reason to waste more than we already do.

Then should we have bi bathrooms, lesbian bathrooms, pedophile bathrooms? I mean come on folks, can't people just go into the bathroom to go TO THE BATHROOM in peace and not have to worry about some perverted pig trying to pick you up? Whether he is gay or not, trying to pick someone up in a public restroom, not in a bar, or club just a public airport, park, office bathroom is just that a PIG and should be locked up or something. If we keep trying to separate people we will never be tolerant of each other. Just, if I'm using the toilet next to you and you get the urge to ask me out, don't do it. This isn't what's going on though, these pervs are trying to get it on in the public restrooms. Jeez, please, get away from me!!!!!

Why should there be separate ones anyways?
From birth, we train children that they are different from the opposite gender.
I can recall being in awe of the boys restroom as a small five year old, wondering what glories and riches it might behold. I felt rejected and less worthy than the boys that I was not allowed in.
How can this be helpful in creating mentally healthy children?

Most gay people are able to control themselves in the restroom. The stories you hear on TV are isolated incidents, usually involving well known people. It's not mainstream. Besides, this government can't even clean up after a hurricane let alone do anything else.

Men's restrooms and women's restrooms are designed to fit the need of that particular sex. just because a man is gay doesn't mean he is not a man. Same with women.

This is about as dumb as the ACLU and CAIR demanding muslims foot baths be installed in restrooms!
While their sexuality may be different, their anatomy is the same. What about hairy people, should they also have their own restrooms? Or how bout people with AIDS or other transmittable diseases? Smelly feet? Where do we draw the line?
