I plan on naming her Mylie Kendra
(kendra was picked by her oldest sister who is 3)
is it really a "terrible" name or does it sound okay?

I think that Mylie Kendra is a really pretty name. If everyone went around making their decisions based on others opinions then we would all be perfect. Besides i LOVE that name.

Well...................I wouldn't say "terrible." It's not "terrible."

BUT................I don't like it, either.

For one thing, there are probably about to be a million or so "Mylie"s, because everyone will want to name their kid after Mylie Cyrus. Don't pretend you're not a part of that LOL. Right now we have a million teenaged Kaylas walking around because their moms watched "Days of Our Lives" about 20 years ago. Kayla is a beautiful name, but every time I meet a "Kayla," the first thought I have is, "Your mom named you after a character on a soap." And do you really want everyone thinking, the minute they meet your daughter for the next 20 years or more, "Her mom named her after a kid on the Disney Channel"?

If you don't mind that, then go ahead. But to me it's not as classy as a classic name that stands the test of time, that will really be hers. As far as the middle name, Kendra, to me it sounds kind of like a black person's name. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but overall the whole name just doesn't seem to fit together.

BUT.........With all that said, I do think you have to follow your heart on a thing like this. If you really love that name, and when you think of your little girl that name fills your mind, then GIVE IT TO HER, because it will have been meant to be her name, if that makes sense. But if you're really still in the thought-process phase of naming her, I'd say come up with some other options before you go with that one.

I know I'll get lots of thumbs-down for this answer, but I had to be honest :)

I like the name Mylie Kendra, sounds nice and strong to me. Why should your brother care what you name your baby?

The middle name should have a syllable less than the first name or it doesn't flow well -- like Mylie Rose would be better. Have your daughter give you a list of names and you can pick from the list

Well... its your daughter not his... :) But I do have to say it sounds like two first names. It doesn't really flow. May I suggest and option to help you?

Makendra
That is an adorable name that ties both of them together. Maybe use Mylie for the middle name? Or maybe a name your brother likes if his opinion is important:)

Good luck and congrats!!

okay, well if you are trying to name it after Miley Cyrus, then i don't think you should. If it is pronounced (mill-ee) then it's okay. But the two names don't really go too well. Maybe you should choose something like Melanie or Marie or maybe even Myllenda. Kinda has the word Mylie in it. Anyway, good luck!

I do love both those names. They sound good together.
You know what, I bet if you asked your brother what his favorite names were, you wouldn't like them. Just as with anyone else you would ask, everyone either likes a name or doesn't. Plus alot of times, after the baby is born, the name becomes something else and fits the personality. That is very sweet of you to let your little girl pick your babies middle name. Go with your heart, when your baby girl is born, you will know what her name should be.

Oh, I like it. I like the spelling Miley better but I love the name in general. I know your brother may be an important figure in your life but he's not worth changing the name for. Follow your heart... Pick the name you like best because its your baby, one day he'll have his chance to come up with a name. And right now its your moment. Its all about you, the baby, and the father. Not your brother, so like i said follow your heart, and pick the name that feels right. If he's really against it, tell him he can come up with a cool nickname for her. My Dad didnt love my name (Erica) so him, and a little over half of my extended family call me kickie! Good Luck=D. Much Love!

Kendra I don't mind, but I'm gonna have to agree with your brother on "Mylie".
