I observe that the liberal’s/progressive’s who are inclined to engage in hostilities will think themselves daring and just in their condemnation of Christianity but, will not confront the fact that radical Islam has historically been and is in contemporary times the most violent religion based ideology.
Why?
Do you honestly believe what you proclaim?
Are you simply being divisive and or rebellious?
Perhaps you are truly ignorant to reality?

Lindsey G - If you really want an answer to that go here http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/Pages/Games-Muslims-Play.htm#islamnotviolent and read, and follow links and read more. Go and purchase a study guide on the Quran and read more. Then go here: http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/Pages/Myths-of-Islam.htm and maybe a little here: http://www.tkb.org/IncidentClassModule.jsp?classId=1&pagemode=group&startDate=01/01/1968&endDate=08/28/2007&suiInt=0&domInt=0&filter=0&setFilter=2&detail=0&info=Religious

ndqbill - Chill with the personal attacks, my question was asked with pure curiosity because I just don’t understand a lot of what liberals do or say. Perhaps my question could have been presented in a more PC fashion but, I am not PC.
You bring up some great points as, thank you for the thoughts and I concur with much (not all) but, much of what you say. I do know the history of our faith. I was once opposed to our faith and researched and am well aware of every atrocity to which you refer. However, we are not there now although we could certainly regress if the government fell into the hands of far right wing nutbags.

First of all I am a Christian and a personally practicing one.I look upon my faith's history with absolute horror and revulsion at the genocides, crimes against humanity ,rapes ,tortures, lynchings burnings and a thousand other henous acts .
I have never known a "liberal" Christian who refused to bash Islam where and when it deserved to be bashed and as I myself do and as it has been YOU who has posited this as a premise to your entire question,YOU need to evidence the veracity of your claim about liberal Christians.
If YOU or other Christians (if you are a Christian) need/want to be an apologists for Christianity ,go for it but I will have not only nothing to do with such apologetics but will fight every attempt to rationalize/justify/excuse or minimize MY faith's atrocities.
My ultimate concern is MY faith and if I cannot be honest about the historical facts of MY faith with both myself and the world ,than I am NOT a Christian for such lies/deceptions are simply ANTI-CHRIST period.
Compared to Islam it is YOU that is monumentally ignorant of the horrors/atrocities committed by Christianity and they far ,far out strip the horrors and atrocities of Islam's history.
Aside from the blatant atrocities of my faith,Christianity has demonized and vilified other faiths and peoples to the point that these other faiths and peoples have been genocided and in particular the JEWS and the Holocaust and of course the world's largest genocide by Christians which is the Indigenous peoples genocide.
All this vile atrocities DONE IN THE NAME OF MY CHRIST !!!!!!!!!!!
Do I believe what I proclaim? Of course I do BECAUSE THAT WHICH I PROCLAIM IS FOUND IN THE HISTORICAL RECORD.
Islam while still no where as atrocious a faith as Christianity has elements that are obscenely atrocious in their actions.I have NO problem whatsover in confronting the radical murderous elements in Islam and no problem condemning them without reservation as I do my own faith's fanatic murderous elements.
Ignorant of reality? You amuse me for it is blatantly evident that is is you that is ignorant to the reality of the historical record.
You make this all sound like a "contest" between two faiths as to who is the best and the worst.
While I of course care profoundly about Islam's atrocities done in it's name,MY ULTIMATE CONCERN IS MY FAITH.To me this is NOT a contest. To me it is a matter of absolutes, not relativities.
God/Christ is are not going to listen to me whine about 'BUt the Muslims are worse then we are " as a defence for ANYTHING for as per the tenants of my faith God / Christ cares only about how my life was led relative only to THE CHRISTIAN MORAL/ETHICAL CODE.
We are divisive and rebellious??
Are you mad ?? Pointing out and being honest about one's faith and not lying about the history of one's faith YOU aver is divisive and rebellious??
Fighting constantly to uphold the moral and ethical principles of Christianity to YOU is being devisive and rebellious ??
Speaking up and out against the anti-Christian abominations carried out in my CHRIST's name is to YOU divisive and rebellious ??
Much of the atrocities committed in the name of Christ and Allah were/are committed by truly evil people who use and abuse Islam and Christianity to attain their own banal earthy objectives of wealth and power .Both need to be stopped but it is people like you who makes all these atrocities seem like some contest of "WHO IS WORSE" ,that are the real problem in stopping the obscene use and abuse of religion.

Conservative Christians want Christianity in our government yet when Islam has one small victory and they can pray where Christians can these extreme Christians whine about how Islam is being pushed upon them. Well then they should stop trying to push Christianity on everyone else. They obviously hate having any other religion that they do not believe in pushed upon them. I have no problem with Christianity BUT I do have a problem when they push their values on non- Christians. I do not believe there should be any religion in government but this is my observation. Muslims are also cruelly stereotyped why they did not do anything wrong. Christianity is not a better religion than Islam. Islam is not a better religion than Christianity. They are just DIFFERENT. Islam is not in itself a violent religion. It is certain people(extremists) who take it out of context and use it as an excuse to kill others. I will not ignore reality. Extremist Muslims ARE a threat YES. Regular Muslims are NOT. I know some Muslim people and they would NEVER hurt ANYONE ever. Are we handling Muslim EXTREMISTS right? No. P.S....Why are you so quick to bash Muslims when not all Muslims are extremists?

American law dictates separation of church and state, which no Christian can do since all Christians are liable to their God before their country. This is no different than an Islamic nation that forces Islamic beliefs on the entire population. Most normal human beings don't want to live under someone else's idealized social dictatorship, especially one where the dictator and his friends always seem to benefit unreasonably well.

You mean we bash the religious right.
Your mistake is in believing they represent all christians. They do not. There are all kinds of christians.
Right-wing fundamentalist Islam is also a threat. Again, like christianity, Islam has all kinds of muslims.
You got your liberal muslims who believe in secular governments and schools and religious tolerance and your right-wing fundamentalist muslims who are the complete opposite.

You've heard the term, "Liberal guilt". I think it borders on a irrational mental state. Liberals seem to believe that the U.S. has some unfair advantage in the world, or somehow got to its present condition by lucky circumstance. Liberals feel the U.S., its people, and its culture, do not deserve such widespread success.
Hence, Liberals will bash everything that is American while simultaneously giving a free pass to anything foreign, because to do so would be "culturally insensitive". As you see, it borders on some myopic view of things that is as ludicrous as it is irrational.

They don't understand, so they bash. It's easier to bash Bush than to deal with the fact that they have lost the last two elections and that their congress has a 14 percent approval rating. They don't want to offend anyone, so they just look the other way.

I have not heard or seen "many" liberals that bash Christianity but, will not admit to the threat of Islam.
I would like a list of at least 50 who have bashed Christianity but, will not admit to the threat of Islam to qualify as "many" please.

Most have been brainwashed to HATE Christianity, yet accept all other religions and not criticize or discriminate against them! But it's fair game when it comes to Christianity!
Maybe because Christianity is the norm in the US. Since we are the majority, we are the focal point!
