feel guilty for asking a maddy q as i have been angered and saddened by the insensitive comments directed at such a seemingly close family,u may ask y im being so 'for them' but my gut instinct is that yes they acted non parent like that night but why would they have harmed her if they spent a fortune on ivf and why her and not one of the twins-no one on here has yet given a viable reason for these vindictive theories

My thoughts and feelings on this case have been the same from the start, which enables me to see both sides of the argument...even though we shouldn't be arguing over a missing child.
Yes, they made a very, very bad decision to leave the children; some may say why spend a fortune on IFV then put the children at risk like that. I do not agree with what they did, and as a mother, I certainly don't understand it.
Just because I disagree with them, it does not make me an "anti", and I certainly don't hate them, these are ridiculous conclusions for the "pros" to jump to.
If Madeleine was snatched (for arguments sake), I do not think the fact that she was left alone gave her abductor the right to take her, which has also been suggested by the "pros".
Just because the "pros" defend the McCanns, I do not think this means they think it is OK to leave children alone, which has been suggested by the "antis".
I personally don't think the McCanns had anything to do with Madeleine going missing, obviously apart from leaving her alone and thus enabling it to be made far easier than it ever should have been. I certainly don't believe they killed her.
Regardless of their actions that night, no parent deserves to lose a child in that way, and they certainly don't deserve to have no clue what happened to Madeleine 3 months on. I'm sure any parent will agree that the thought that this can happen is very, very frightening.

Every one is concerend deep down for a child gone missing.

Who knows why all this has happened and why the parents acted as they did. For your sake and all other concerend people out there, I hope there is closure soon.

I think people are trying to make sense of a very troubling set of circumstances. Some of what has been written has been in anger. People get very emotional when the vulnerable members of our society are seemingly neglected and hurt. We all know the children were left unattended so its not a wonder the parents have been blamed.

Children should never be left alone under any circumstances.

They made one huge mistake, which they will have to live with the rest of their lives!!! I have 5 children, my youngest has just turned 4 years old. We have been abroad but, when the children were ready for bed, we went back to our apartment, put the children to bed and my husband and I sat on the balcony. Never, would we have left them unattended. In a foreign country is even worse in our eyes!!! God bless poor little Maddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Simple. It is the callous neglect and uncaring disregard for universal human standards of child care that causes people to be revolted by their actions, their comments, and their attitude.

As for you, if you're so tolerant that you can sympathize with the McCanns, I feel sorry for any children in your family.

They made a big mistake in leaving their kids alone. I doubt they will ever see her again.

Hopefully this will 'teach' other paernts on holiday not to do the same thing. Get a baby sitter, or better still, NEVER leave your kids alone.

We have 2 small kids and we would NEVER have left them alone for a second when we were on holiday.
