According to the prosecutor's complaint, obtained Tuesday by The Associated Press, airport police Sgt. Dave Karsnia, who was investigating allegations of sexual conduct in airport restrooms, went into a stall shortly after noon on June 11 and closed the door.
Minutes later, the officer said he saw Craig gazing into his stall through the crack between the door and the frame.
After a man in the adjacent stall left, Craig entered it and put his roller bag against the front of the stall door, "which Sgt. Karsnia's experience has indicated is used to attempt to conceal sexual conduct by blocking the view from the front of the stall," said the complaint, which was dated June 25.
The complaint said Craig then tapped his right foot several times and moved it closer to Karsnia's stall and then moved it to where it touched Karsnia's foot. Karsnia recognized that "as a signal often used by persons communicating a desire to engage in sexual conduct," the complaint said.
Craig then passed his left hand under the stall divider into Karsnia's stall with his palms up and guided it along the divider toward the front of the stall three times, the complaint said.
The officer then showed his police identification under the divider and pointed toward the exit "at which time the defendant exclaimed `No!'" the complaint said.
The Aug. 8 police report says that Craig had handed the arresting officer a business card that identified him as a member of the Senate.
"What do you think about that?" Craig is alleged to have said, according to the report.

according to the police report
he stood in front of the police mans stall and peeked in several times for about two minutes he then proceeded to go in the next stall and do a series of bathroom stall gay antics
that only gay bathroom stall perverts know about,
he than started to play footsies with the officer,he than stuck his hand under his stall several times, he than got arrested
tried to play his senate card with the officer and was rejected
apparently there had been a lot of complaints in this bathroom of gay sex , that is why there was an undercover officer in the stall, also the officer never handcuffed him and was very discreet in his arrest.

He went into an airport restroom that is known in that city's gay community for a pickup spot to have encounters with strangers. The signal that you are there for an encounter is to go into a stall, and tap the foot of the guy in the adjacent stall.
Undercover police officers began patrolling this airport's restrooms to put a stop to these lewd acts in public places. An undercover officer was planted in a stall. Craig went into the adjacent stall and initiated an encounter with the undercover officer by tapping the officers foot several times. When the cop revealed his ID to Craig, Craig handed the cop a business card showing that he was a US Senator. The cop arrested him anyway.
Craig went into the men's restroom to solicit a sexual encounter from a complete stranger. Craig later plea bargained for a lesser charge of misconduct.

I don't see what the big deal is. Who cares if he's gay or not. If two consenting adult males want to get it on with eachother just let 'em. As long as it's not in public then what the heck should anyone care?

All the details of the police report are in this on line paper which first reported it. There are a few more than in the AP story, and it's very clear the officer did NOT misinterpret Craig's intentions.

He tapped his right foot which is supposedly suppose to be an invite for friskiness, I guess.
His blue eye peered through the stall.
That's all I remember reading.

He didn't know the person and the other person was an undercover cop.
Craig also pleaded guilty of the charge.

He tapped his foot, which some Liberal stalker undercover policeman in the bathroom stall next to him, interpreted as a gay sign, that Sen. Craig wanted gay sex with him. I guess the cop knew more about gay sex than did Sen. Craig, since all Craig did by pleaing guilty for misconduct, was to try and prevent a ridiculous scandal.
