My mother gave me an electric razor the night before I started 5th grade. I didn't ask for it but was grateful she offered. The razor didn't work too well. I didn't get a close shave, but I did feel like a "woman" because the hair on my legs was shorter than ever.
I don't think there should be a set grade or a particular age at which one should be allowed to shave her legs. It depends on the level of maturity, both physical and emotional. If you are ready to start shaving, confront your mother. Tell her you believe you are mature enough to handle the responsibility. Do not be rushed into shaving because all your friends are doing it. There will be plenty of time to shave when you get older!
Some tips on shaving: Use a good shaving cream. It helps prevent nicks and cuts. Take your time. This will help lesson the chance for razor burn. Use a new razor. Never use your mom or dad's old razor. You should have one of your own, and never share!

I started when I was in 6th grade, I'm in 8th now.
If your leg hair isn't real obvious don't start shaving. Because it's really a pain to shave everyday. Once you start you have to shave pretty much everyday.

there's no set age or grade for this. it depends on their hair and if it bothers them. That said, I was 10 or 11 and in 5th or 6th grade if I recall.

i would also recommend starting with an electric shaver instead of a razor and shaving cream first until you get the hang of it. I was very afraid of razors until late high school. I am a klutz and cut myself a lot with knives, so I didn't cross over to a real razor until later on.

I really think it depends on the girl and how mature she is. usually I'd say around 7th grade or the age of 13 is when most girls start to shave.

my mom didn't let us shave our legs until we were 14, in high school. that's when the hair was obvious and also when we wore skirts and shorts more often.
