He regrets pleading guilty and denies he is gay. He said that he pleaded guilty so that it can be handled promptly and he can get on with his life. He also said he didnt understand what the law was and that he was entitled to a liar, The cop never told him.

So, if your a senator, you dont know basic law?? My 17 year old son, understands that you can elect a lawyer without even talking to the cops and putting in a plea.

SOunds like a liar to me, what do you think?

Bananas- BS, He doesnt know anything, what he did was a misdemeanor, and he could have easily hired a lawyer with all the money he has, and perhaps plea down to a lesser charge, like "loitering" or something.

Bottom line, you cant compare people who werent arrested and say they are criminals. Do you need me to cite websters dictionary of a criminal?

he's either lying or he's the stupidest man alive who should resign b/c he's too stupid to be a senator. If you're a career politican who makes laws and you don't understand law, then you are not qualified for your job.

GOP the gross old party seems like all the republican politicians beat their chest complain about the gays then it turns out they are one. I wonder if him and Mark Foley tag-teamed the pages.

Pathetic you admit you are guilty then when it goes public it's oh I didn't understand or I'm not guilty I just wanted it to go away.He starred into a stall for 2 minutes ran his hand under the guys stall 3 times, touched his foot inside of another stall etc. etc.

Not normal behavior, they can come up with the weirdist explanations or at least they can try

He is a liar. His hope was if he plead guilty and paid a fine it could be swept under the rug.

For a US Senator to claim they didn't know they had a right to an attorney is disingenuous and insulting.

Whatever, dude. Since he is a Republican, he will either be forced to resign or will not be re-elected. Contrast this to almost any democrat, i.e. William Jefferson, Diane Feinstein, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Alcee Hastings, Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, and that other jerk from NY whose name escapes me, just to name a few. These people all have serious criminal and ethical issues hanging over them, but none will be held accountable by either their party or the voters. Sad, isn't it?

Few get arrested for ethical issues, brainiac.

There was a report just today of HRC using a couple in SF to illegally funnel $$$ into her coffers, so she may do the perp walk yet.

Too late for him, he is toast. Lying, changing his story, hiring big shot lawyers, etc. will only mitigate the damage to a point, his career and his marriage may well be history. Another one bites the dust !

yeah yeah sure, knowing it could jeopardize any campaign, just so he could get on with his life.
He is doing like every one of his type does, trying to make himself out to be the victim of a "witch hunt", after getting busted.

Its about as bad as the guy getting caught by his wife in bed with another woman saying, "this isn't what you think."

I love when this happens....one of the "parties" has a lot of politicians who talk out of both sides of their mouth.

I have nothing against gay people....they should be treated equally...with the same rights as the rest of us......but it's when this kind of thing happens that makes me smile.

He's telling the truth when he says he regrets his plea! And he's also being straight with the public when he says he's not gay. He's a married bi-sexual.

Absolutely, he's been doing this for over 20 years now...getting caught in these situations and denying they ever happened....hypocrisy...plain and simple...typical Conservative....all about the image and no substance....
