I had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy. Within 6 weeks I was pregnant again. I had my first scan last week at 6 weeks and 3 days. Everything looked great. Yesterday I started getting some brown spoting. My question is since this pregnancy looked good at 6 weeks with a normal heart rate does that mean that if this pregnancy ends in miscarriage that iscan't be a chromosonal abnormalty since it was forming correctly at 6 weeks.

It could still have chromosomal abnormailities. Babies are born all the time with chromosomal defects, duch as Downs syndrome, and Trisomy 21. They are rare though and will be ruled out later on during your pregnancy.

However since about 50% of early miscarriages are due to what is a called a blighted ovum (a chromosomal anbormality where only a sac and yolk sac develops, but no baby), once you see a heartbeat and a baby your chances of miscarriage go down from about 20%, to about 10%, since you just ruled out a major cause of miscarriage.

No, that is not what it means. You could miscarraige due to a chromosomal abnormality even if the ultrasound looks good. Ultrasounds do not always pick up on problems. Have you seen a genetic counselor or had you and your hubby tested. I would definetly start seeking some advice before I continue getting pregnant and having problems.

Good Luck.
