You can be a great thinker, but still be considered silly. Trust me once you get the label "silly" its hard to shake. I have a very goofy sense of humor, and I am always making people laugh. For along time I fought the notion I was just some "clown" People did not realize that I knew I was smart too, Now I accept the silliness as a part of my personality, while letting my smarts shine Thru too. If other people do not see that, then they are the idiots. just be yourself

Can you change your personality? Yes. Is it even remotely easy? No. You'll have to work at it for a year or two to finally start acting differently on a constant basis. And you can't make yourself smarter. You can adopt a more studious/serious personality but you'll never become the next Einstein unless you were born like that.

I think most people are capable of being silly and of having great thoughts.
We are all different, but disciplining yourself to dismiss silliness and pursuing the deeper thinking skills will move you toward greater capabilities.
READ a LOT, and realize not all of the published "great thinkers" or philosophers are correct in their reasoning.
(Can't be because they are not in agreement.)
Realize we are NOT all alike, do not all have equal skill or talents, and therefore no single solution for life's problems can work for all individuals.
