how do you survive in that state where you don't know anyone and don't know much about the place?? have anyone experience this?? how do you even get to the college after you get off the plane??

You are in an exciting adventure. I had to find my college off a bus in a new city at age 18 too. Carrying 2 suitcases and a backpack and hand bag and probably a couple of plastic bags too. We are talking about 30 years ago mind you!!
However, these days you have Mapquest at your disposal.
The college will give you a "mentor" who will show you around and there will be orientation days before the classes start.
DON OT WORRY! It will be fine. There are 100s other kids at the college in the same boat, and they will all help you as you help them!

if I was you I check get the phone book, and I get an internel connection and find out about that state your college is in,
public transportation like taxis is good for starters, never hitchhike you're way there, join a club you can make friends easly, and have a map so you know were you're going
