You are underweight based on you BMI:

I'm almost ur age and i'm 125 - and I'm not fat at all! I'm not a stick, but I don't want to be. Just because you're a cheerleader doesn't mean u have 2 be really under weight. Just eat the right foods (the pyramid) and exercise daily. If ur like my friend - who eats junk 24/7, doesn't exercise AT ALL, and weighs only 90 lbs. - then ask ur doctor what u should do 2 gain weight. DON'T LOSE WEIGHT.

The easy rule of thumb is 100 pounds for 5 feet of height and 5 pounds for each inch over. That would make your normal weight 145 pounds. Of course your doctor probably gave you a pretty wide range of what your weight should be which probably begins lower than 145 pounds and goes above that. 103 pounds is way too low for someone of your height and very unhealthy. Listen to your doctor.

128 lbs. That is the approx. MINIMUM weight on the BMI chart based on your height.
I am a 19 year old boy, and I too, am very thin, not anorexic though. I weigh my absolute minimum of 128 lbs. And, I stand at 5'8" 1 inch shorter than you.

You DON'T need to lose weight, but you DON'T HAVE TO BE FAT TO GAIN WEIGHT. I would imagine you'd want to have some muscle if you're a cheerleader, so work on getting more muscles, cause it muscles weigh more than fat.

You know what, I honestly think you're okay. It sounds like your doctor is thinking in terms of adults, and not adolescents and children. I am 14, 5'1, and about 85 pounds. I'm not a stick. There are people skinnier than me who still look healthy.

the doc said the same to me! but you're tall so weighing more is natural. you need to remember that as you keep growing, you need to keep gaining weight. i think she's probably right. you should gain some weight and then after the next checkup if the doc gives you the okay then is the time to think about losing some.

the doc knows what's best for your body, you need to listen to her.
