How soon do babies normally start to walk after they pull themselves up?

I think the average for all babies to start walking is about a year old. Some have walked at 9 months, some not until 15 months old. I had two little girls at the day care, one who was actually born addicted to crack who started walking very well at 9 months!! They didn't expect that, but she did it. And another baby (completely healthy) would pull herself up for quite a few months but didn't walk until right before she turned 15 months old. It varies from baby to baby, but you can work with your son to help him walk earlier. My daughter started shortly after turning 12 months old.

Nothing is normal so it could be next month or in a few months. Hopefully not too soon unless u think he'll be ready. I walked at just turned 9 months and 2 of my 4 kids were really early too. But right now he has the upper body strength and will get a lot of lower body strength when he uses the couch or whatever to move around. Then he'll be able to balance.

anytime - walking can start from 8 months til 18 months for the later babies. My baby took about 4 months from pulling up to taking steps and then about 2 months before he was walking all the time. My daughter walked at 12 months and was only pulling herself up at 10 months.

Babies vary - don't wish for an early walker cos then you will be sooooo busy running after them.

sounds similar to my son. My son started the pulling up at 7 months and by the end of 9 months he was taking those first steps. By 8.5 he was crawling. Now at 13 months he's a pro at walking and often runs from me!! Get ready to be on the go pretty soon!!

Anywhere from 8 to 10 months. The reason your son just wants to keep pulling himself up is because he's having a good time doing it and wants to show the world what he can do even at his young age. Also there is a built in urge to move as his muscles and bones continue to develop and get stronger. He'll be walking almost before you know it.

My son starting pulling himself up at about 10 months but didn't start walking until he was just over a year old. It all depends on how motivated the little guy is. I wouldn't be too concerned about...just make sure his environment is baby proof! Good Luck.

my second child didn't start walking until she was 14 months but was pulling up at 7 1/2 months and pushing things around the house at 8 months. so pulling up is no indication that you have to worry about him walking in a few days. but then again, you never know

my son started walking about 3 months after he started pulling up. He cruised down the side of the couch about a month after he pulled up but took him a while to work up the courage to let go

Well your son most likely is now going to pull himself up for another month maybe month and a half then he was to learn to stabilize himself without holding on. Theeeennnn, he will start trying to walk. I would say you still have about 3 months...baby-proof everything while you can! :)

My twins both started pulling themselves up around that age, cruising around 8 months... One of them was walking just before 9 months and the other didn't start walking until shortly after their first brthday. It all depends on your child. Have the camera ready!!!
