Arson - A crime of setting a fire with intent to cause damage.
Arsonist - One who has committed the act of arson, or illegally setting fire to property.

The act of intentionally setting a fire or causing an explosian that causes personal injury or damage to private property. In Washington, the severity of the charge varies with what was burned ans whether or not human life was at risk. Even if no one was hurt the possibility that someone might have been will mean the difference between felony arson and a lesser charge.

Arson is also actionable in civil court as trespass or trespass to chattels
