Yea, I think the Jesus statement was designed for the SCLC. They had been falling all over themselves trying to support him earlier. ( A few weeks ago they came out with 'they support Michael Vick and that they were gonna honor him the next week at one of their conventions', and the very next day they made a statement that there would be NO honor day for Michael Vick) This gives the SCLC a good excuse to jump on the free Michael Vick bandwagon. I would not be surprised if some of the officers in the SCLC and Vick's attorneys didn't confer on his statement, and decided that the 'Jesus' statement would pave the way for their support.
But you should notice that he added he has found Jesus and turned his life over to God, he thinks it is the right thing to do as of 'right now'. Sounds sorta convenient to me.
My next biggest problem with his statement is that he refers to his cruel and sadistic treatment of animals as 'immature'. Immature means childish, and I don't know any children who drown and hang dogs. I think his PR firm should have searched the thesarus for a term closer to the truth in terms of describing what he has been accused of and has admitted doing.

Yeah, he's sorry. He made a "mistake". When he had that house built and put buildings in the back for dog training and fighting, that was just a mistake. When he carried this nonsense on for 5 years before getting caught, that was a mistake. When he helped hang and drown many dogs, that was a mistake. When he bankrolled all the illegal gambling on these dog fights, that was a mistake. When he blatanly lied to cover it up to the media and commissioner of football, that was a mistake. When he was Ron Mexico, spreading his Herpes, that was a mistake. I know there's gullible people that will buy the crap he's trying to sell now, but please gimme a break!

Vick is an idiot pure and simple he had willy wonka's golden ticket and threw it away. Does it suprise anyone how many people are on their way to jail and find God? If I was about to become a wet nurse in the prison wing I would pray as well. But, it does not mean he has just found God it means he just realized he is about to SACKED.

My favorite part is how he said he has to "accept responsibility for his actions". The only reason he is "accepting responsibility for his actions", is because 3 other guys agreed to testify against him. So he had no choice but to plead guilty and as he calls it "accept responsibility for his actions."
