I have to agree with Tomas M, the European Union must take responsibiliy for this. Even if the more help we take is better, and dont forget that Greece help USA after Katrina. I live in Greece, and this is a total disaster.

Its a freaking fire. We get those all the time. Every year I think California burns down, yet we can still take care of it. Why can't Greece take care of itself? Shoot, you already have 19 other countries helping. What does rich have to do with anything anyway? Are you saying Greece will let its citizens burn unless we give them money? and people wonder why the US is involved in so many places, apppearantly the world cannot take care of itself and needs us there to feel safe.

Why don't you go? There are probably 19 countries that border Greece, so help can get there in 1/2 hour or so.

We have co-operative agreements with other countries. We regularly help Canada and Canada regularly helps us. We've also helped Mexico. Our agreement with Australia works out real good. They help us during our heavy fire seasons which occur from mid July til October and we help them in their peak season from January to March. Right now, there are thirty one uncontained large fires in the United States, mostly in Montana and Idaho. Yesterday, nationwide, there were 11,076 acres consumed. To date 64,796 fires have consumed 6,980,431 acres in the US. The ten year average for August 28 is 61,041 fires burning 5,268,509 acres. So we are experiencing a busier than usual fire year. It seems the fires and acreage seems to go up every year while the resources to fight the fires seems to be dwindling.
Why does every question seem to get some "you liberals will complain about everything" answer? Some questions have legitimate answers which have nothing to do with libtards vs neocons.

The European Union should take responsibility for this, the same way the USA deals with natural disasters in the Western Hemisphere (such as sending disaster relief to Caribbean countries when hurricanes hit).

We have enough problems of our own to deal with. I'm tired of America helping charity countries.
Richest country in the world? That's very funny, not even close.

Yes.
We will end up sending Greece millions more than we always do yearly.
Don't worry little American Hater.
Have you sent any of your own money to Greece????
(Or, are you like the Democrats here? They whine about people in need, but they don't give a penny of their own money.)
You may be a hypocrite, like our Democrats.
