or since it has only been two days can I start the new pack and just expect to miss my period? I really don't want to wait a full month to start the new bc pill. Any advice??

ABSOLUTELY. There is NO need to wait one full month to start on the "right" day. My ob/gyn prescribes BCPs acyclic, meaning taking them 3 weeks and skipping the last week of placebo, (fake ones, to keep you on track) then NO period! Great for preventing endometriosis and fibroid tumors which run (highly) in my family. You will NOT mess up your cycle by starting the new brand where you left off! Good luck.

It's best to wait until you've finished the entire pack of your old birth control pills before starting on the new pack. Different pills contain different types of hormones, and you could risk messing up your cycle, or becoming pregnant by switching in the middle of the pack. Also, remember during the first two weeks of your new birth control pills to use a backup method, because sometimes, it takes a bit of everything to regulate itself. It's better to be protected than to have an unwanted pregnancy.

If you MUST switch packs in the middle of an old pack- start the new pack where the old pack left off. For instance, if you're on day 16 of the old pack, throw away all of the sencond packs pils until you're starting with day 17, that way your period won't be late and you won't start spotting. But also, like I said, use a backup method for two weeks.

It depends. Check the dosage - if it is the same, then yes, you can probably pick up the new pack where you left off. If not, then no, you need to wait until you've finished the current pack and then start the new pill immediately. Of course, if you are sexually active, you should be using alternate contraception for about two weeks if you are switching pills (particularly to a lower dose!!)

You have to wait until next month to start a new type of birth control pill. All pills are different and contain different forms and amounts of hormone. You would be affecting your cycle in a weird way.

If you wait until next month, your cycle will not be as disrupted.
