if no money changes hands, and if both are willing? I ask of course due to the situation that Sen. Larry Craig is in.When answering, I request that you put aside your approval or disapproval of homosexuality or adultery. Just tell me if you think that soliciting should be a crime, and why. Thanks.

Sen. Craig is a very conservative Republican. Until he resigned was on Romney's Presidential committee.

I think it is morally wrong, but I am not sure it should be illegal. And I don't want to see PDA of any persuasions....gay or straight. If we as a society, had more self control or self respect, we wouldn't even be having this discussion, no one would be asking a stranger for sex under any circumstances.

I don't necessarily have a problem with adultery (I think it's wrong, but not criminal), and I don't believe there's anything wrong with homosexuality.
That said, I think that the public place part is what gets me. If I were to walk into a bathroom and see two girls getting it on, I wouldn't be any happier than if it were two men -- or a man and a woman, for that matter. I just don't want to see it in the public bathroom.
I don't think that what goes on in private and between two consenting adults should be even noticed by the law, much less regulated, but when you bring sexual activity of any kind into the public, then that changes the dynamic. Frankly, I just think it needs to be left at home.

Yes and that is why it is. It is considered a crime against society. It is morally wrong according to the majority of those that make up society as a whole. That is where most of our laws comes from, what society thinks is acceptable and what isn't.
There are plenty of other ways the Senator could have gone about finding a date that didn't require him to be in public soliciting for sex....that is just asking for trouble especially if the person knew he was a Senator. In today's technological age...use the internet. I haven't been following the story about the Senator so there is no bias here.

I think that depends on if both parties are willing...If you're sitting there doing your business and somebody reaches into your stall and performs the universal hand symbol for gay sex, I think there's a problem there...The bigger issue with this situation is not the solicitation, but the fact that he speaks out against homosexuality but participates himself...

A few years back the "headmaster" of our town's expensive, exclusive private school was caught attempting to pleasure a stranger in the men's room in a large public park.
End of career. Think he did time.

It's not about the being gay or money, it's about others not wanting to watch, or most people. It's also about children not having to be exposed to that behavior in private or public. Two consenting adult can do what ever they want in private
