Yes, that's absolutely true. The moment of conception is also the point at which the scientific definition of life occurs - consumption of nutrients & oxygen and cell development.

It is true indeed. There was a great special on National Geographic about conception to birth. From the moment the egg and sperm meet the baby's genetic make-up is complete. The rest is just development for the outside world.

Just about. Once one sperm cell makes contact with the egg cell, they swap their chromosomes. Humans have 46 chromosomes. 23 come from egg, and 23 come from the sperm, and then they join together, and a unique dna is created, and then a zygote is created and turns to fetus.

Sure. Conception is when your egg & sperm come together, attach to the uterine wall, and begin multiplying.

the embryo's DNA would be half dad's and half mom's, which makes it unique.
