When I was a child, there were children starving in China. I had to eat everything on my plate to save them from starvation. Go figure. I had a wonderful selection of liver, tongue, brains & eggs, kidneys, and other delightful foods that I know the little children in China would have liked packed in a box and sent to Russia.

I could call myself spoiled for so many reasons but food wouldn't be one of them. You could either eat your food and have desert or you don't eat your food and do get desert. When I say food I mean proteen, calsium, fruits, and veggies.
And I agree, having seperate meals? That's horrible. I mewan yes if my parents went out to eat we would eat seperately, and if the schedule was tight we might eat at different times but we never did it purposely with ou a reason.

When i was LITTLE LITTLE... like 4 or 5 or 6?
well then i was EXTEMELY picky..... the only things i would eat were hot dogs (with NOTHING on them), pizza (with no sauce just cheez and olives), spaggetti (but it had to be a certane kind of sauce and straight noodles not curly noodles) mac and cheez (but it had to be regular noodles, not the ones shaped liked cartoon charaters cuz thoughs tasted weird) and toporamen noodles (but thet had to be made by my aunt)
and my brother was REALLY picky (i mean pickier then me) so the only thing he would eat were bologna sandwhiches, so for one week thats what we had for breakfast, luch and dinner, cuz our parents were so buzzy, they didnt even know what they were feeding us...
and the only healthy things i would eat were grapes... but i only liked thoughs cuz i could toss em up in the air and try to catch them in my mouth... but they usualy landed on the floor so i didnt get much of those... lol
but now i eat really healthy.. like organic and stuff....
but i've always loved cheez whiz... ever since i was 3 and i heard the song LOSER by BECK.... so i tried it once, and i loved it.... so i take a can and squirt it into my mouth.... but other ppl think its really sick....
well thats the end of my true story... i guess i was REALLY bored

My parents did not spoil us. One meal was made for the family and you had to eat it. If you didn't, you went hungry or you were served your leftovers for breakfast.
I think some, and I do say some, parents of today are too indulgent of their children. Yes, I agree. These kids are spoiled.

when i was kid my mom fixed us normal food and for my dad she fixed the food i still consider gross like pigs feet, frog legs, chitlins yuck!!. She would cu cut my steak up because i was too young to use a knife. That's about the only thing .You can't bully a kid to eat there food .Just compromise to get them to eat or else CPS will be involved if he or she is looking like they are starving. But Hey my parents had this rule you can't get up from the table if u don't eat that food.An if u refused it was on your plate the next day.So sooner or later the kid will give e in or starve.Look lts not ridiculous to make separate meals for kids there are some adult meals that are to adult for kids.No kid wants to eat fancy foods .So make them easy meals, spaghetti, chicken , fish nuggets, etc. But to make a child eat frog legs, sushi, chit lings, pigsfeets, oysters etc. that's just wrong on the adults part. Kids want stuff that tastes good to there taste buds not what tastes good to adults.

My dad had a head injury so that kept him from knowing when he was full. So dinner was a competition to eat some dinner before the big fat man came and ate it all.

I was never spoiled. I had to eat my my parents provided and not whine like kids do today. It taught me how to be appreciative and accepting and it also taught me how to be disciplined.
You would be surprised how having dinner around the table with parents who actually do their parenting job affects your life positively

I eat whatever that's given to me on the dinning table. If I do not like it, I will do my best to eat it as my mum and granny took the trouble and hard work just to cook for us. To me, as long as there're meals, I will not hesitate to finish it up as wasting of food means wasting of money and effort by the cooks.
Cheers :)

When my daughter was little we didn't talk about what tasted good or not. I cooked the dinner and we sat down as a family to eat it.
If she tried it and didn't like it she didn't have to eat it.
I don't understand parents that make children eat foods they don't like......I don't eat foods I don't like....no grown-up does.
