A gift bag filled with essentials is always a great gift. Pack some newborn diapers, wipes, baby wash and lotion. Maybe throw in some cute recieving blankets or a personal gift from you like a personalized onesie. Getting essentials may seem boring to you, but believe me, when baby comes a pack of diapers will come in handy when you can't get to the store.

Bring a meal and diapers! Not a ton of fun for you but, trust me, SHE will be very appreciative! The best are Pampers Swaddlers(yellow package) and get her Newborn and Size 1. I remember of all the post baby, post shower gifts I got...I still remember the meals! It's just so nice to eat something non-frozen or fast food after having a baby and you don't have the time or energy to do it yourself.

Bring the mom (your girlfriend) some flowers or maybe some chocolates! I bet she would really like that! Why don't you wait to see the baby and ask the mom what she needs then get that for the baby! I hope the baby is healthy! Tell your girlfriend congrats...take care!!!`

A cute baby outfit, and DIAPERS. That was my favorite gift after I had my daughter. .you have no Idea how much you need those things. Also, you might want to get something for HER. I was such a miserable mess after I had my daughter. .and my girlfriend bought me a gift cert to the spa for a massage and facial, and offered to babysit while I had it done. IT WAS AWESOME. . she is such a good friend.

My girlfriend just had a baby too! I didn't buy her any of the "norm" stuff. I actually made her a couple of dishes she could freeze and some spaghetti sauce. that way, she doesn't have to worry about supper for about a week. Just taking care of her babies (she has 5..lol) Good luck

Recieving blankets, normal blankets or diapers. Those things will never get old and Mommies always need them!!! You could also offer to make dinner for her family one evening....our church does that for any family that just had a baby and it really takes the stress off the Mama.

Diapers. they may not seem like a fun gift but they are so helpful. With my first daughter I was given enough that I didn't have to buy them until she was 6 months old. It saved us money and also time so we didn't have to run out and get them.

for the baby: diapers, or a gift card so she can get anything she hasn't already received but still needs.
for mom: something she can use to pamper herself with- after delivering & with all the attention on baby, she will appreciate something to help her relax. (body wash, spa gift card, lotion, etc)

Anything that is useful.....a box of diapers, anything that she will actually use.
You could also go the keepsake route....like a blanket with the baby's name and birthdate embroidered on it...something that she/he can keep forever.

Diapers, diaper cream, baby wash...anything that runs out because you know they will always need it! Try getting her size 2 diapers...she may not have any of those yet.
