UT

OU is stronger on the line and the D will be tough, but they are starting a new QB. Really hard to win the Red River Shootout with UT when you have a first time QB since the game is in mid-October. Doesn't matter who Stoops puts back there -- all of them lack experience and that is all the difference in a game like this.

Neither UT or OU have a tough schedule, so it will likely come down to the head to head game, and I'd give the nod to the experienced Colt McCoy. Turnovers play a huge role in that game, and expect a couple from OU.

A&M is the wildcard, and they have a very tough ground game. However, UT will be looking for revenge after last year's collapse, so they won't be underestimated this time around.

Remember that UT dominated this conference last year until Colt got hurt. If he stayed healthy they run the table and play for the National Championship. They lose experience on the line but the receivers are all back, as is most of the backfield.

The secondary took a hit but in reality last years secondary was overrated anyway.

Its burnt orange all the way.

TEXAS IS TAKING THE BIG XII SOUTH CROWN (and conference championship)

Texas returns an outstanding young QB in Colt McCoy, the weapons on offense are very impressive...argue-ably the best receiving corp top to bottom in the league...and there experience along the defensive line will be hard to match (3 players made the preseason Lombardi watch list). The schedule does present some formidable opponents in TCU and OU early but if Texas can go into November undefeated, i think they could set themselves up for a shot at the National Title if teams such as Michigan and West Virginia slip up at all!

HOOK'EM HORNS!!!

the more I think about the Big 12 the more it seems that a 9-3 Nebraska team defeats the winner of the Red River Shootout for the title.. reason is Nebraska will win the Big 12 North and on a neutral field they'll suprise the competition because by then they'll be well seasoned (they do play USC) so they'll have seen a team better than either Texas or Oklahoma

Sooners - defense is solid and the O will have a good year in life after AP; Stoops has settled on a QB, but has depth in that position in case a change needs to be made; they will be in the TOP Ten throughout the year and be in a BCS Bowl game with an outside chance of playing USC for the BCS title.

I agree with everything you've said, and I've been trying to explain this but people's biased opinions get in the way of what's right and wrong. When three teams, all 11-1 (6-1) are tied, head to head means nothing. A beat B, B beat C, and C beat A. All 3 of those meetings mean something, one doesn't mean more than the other.

Texas, as long as future heisman winner Colt McCoy stays healthy.
