I am now in surgically-induced menopause and the feelings you are describing fit me to a T. I got to the point I would take myself outside and just walk around to ease my frustration, I knew my family didn't do things on purpose just to make me angry at them.

I am now on a hormone patch and it helps to alleviate a good portion of my symptoms, and I am also on an antidepressant. The patch isn't a cure, just something to give me relief.

You may want to visit your doctor or OB/GYN and see if there is anything they can help you with. If you do get on an antidepressant, you need to give it at least 3-4 weeks to really "kick in" for any results to show.

(Your family knows you love them very much, they just don't understand the cycles of menopause).

Good luck.

I am not sure if HRT is still prescribed but there is a better option whch is the mirena coil, this is a method of birth control but is also now used for women during the menopause. The symptoms you are experiencing are due to the loss of female sex hormones (progestogen & oestrogen) produced by the ovaries. Mirena contains one of these hormones lost during menopause (progestogen).
Oestrogens can be used to relieve the menopausal symptons but when taken alone can increase of an abdominal grown or cancer of the lining of the womb BUT taking a progestogen such as levonorgestrel i n mirens along with the oestrogen lowers the risk. This is because the mirena coil protects he lining of your womb.

The mirena consists of a small T-shaped frame made from a plastic called polythylene which carried the levonorgestrel, the frame also contains barium sulphate in order for it to be seen on an x-ray. This small structure provides a system to release the levonorgestrel gradualy into the womb.

This system is not like the old copper coil as it is flexible & there is next to no chance of it moving or catching on anything as there is nothin for it to catch on.

Basically, what you need to feel a bit more like yourself again & releive your symptoms is oestrogen which can be prescribed by your gp & also the mirena to protect the lining of your womb while taking oestrogen.

I hope u can make sense of what i have sed & i hope it helps. Good luck

Oh & i have a mirena coil for birth control & have had no problems with it at all

I spent ages answer your last one and pressed submit and it had been removed! Here goes again!.

Firstly, get you teenagers to help you more. They should be now be helping you - they are certainly capable of tidying up after them. Allocate them jobs.

Talk to your partner, tell him how you feel so at least he knows the reasons behind your actions. Perhaps you could go to the doctor - have you thought about HRT. You could try Serotone 5HTP - my friend says it changed her life (she is 46) - here is a link http://www.bodykind.com/productdetails/CatIDx269/ProdIDx1006/serotone-5-hydroxy-tryptophan-30-100-1x.htm - buy the 50mg no 100mg to start with. Available from health food shops - all natural product.
Try to relax more, take relaxing baths etc and get to spend some time alone to chill. Maybe take some exercise.
Try and count to ten when you find yourself getting wound up - sometimes we get into the "habit" of snapping - next time you feel yourself getting wound up - try and ask yourself, is it worth it!

Glad I read your question!!!
