Gone With the Wind. I was mesmerized the first time I watched it. It reminds me we can't always have the ones we want.

I don't know if this counts - it's a show really but it's been made into a film - The Phantom of the Opera - where you have the classical love triangle. Love turns into obsession and rejection generates rage and murder. One guy has to lose not because of the way he looks but because she loves another. she is willing to sacrifice herself for her true love and The Phantom lets her go because He loves her too much. aaaaah what more could you ask for. It's all there in the music! Obsession, passion, despair, tenderness, sensuality. Took me for one hell of an emotional roller coaster ride let me tell you. ( I have the movie - the soundtrack - the recording of the original cast and the book -seen it dozens of times and it still works it's magic)

True Romance is THE best love story movie out there. I would also choose a couple of the Bonnie and Clyde movies, perhaps throw in a dash of Natural Born Killers. Yup-now those are some true love stories!

Ooohhh...

Either "Love Affair" (a/k/a "An Affair to Remember") or "Love Actually".

I'm not sure either were when I felt I knew what love meant, but I think they are the ones that best personify what love is and how deep it can be.

Beauty and the Beast. I still cry at the end every time I see it. I don't know if it's the visual scene or the theme played by the French horn, but I love it.
