I love gouramis but I'm not sure that they are okay for a 5 gal (see my other qusetion)
I've heard paradise fish can survive a 5 gal
I have a BIOWHEEL filter and plan on getting a heater.
Can I keep a paradise fish and what are some good sites/tips you have
Thanks in advance!

They would be fine. Paradise fish are a type of Gourami (closely related to the Betta). These fish come from very warm waters, so the water should stay around 80 degrees. Add a small amount of aquarium salt (dose as suggested on the bottle). Do not keep more than one male in a 5 gallon tank, that is kinda crowded already. I would suggest that this be the only fish in the tank (except maybe for a female), maybe with some Ghost or Cherry Shrimp though. The Gourami will take flake, pellets, frozen or live food, and algae wafers. This is a beautiful fish, so be sure to do plenty of research before you buy it. Email me if you have any specific questions.

EDIT: 2 males in such a confined tank will fight with each other. The only option would be a pair, male and female. There may be some chasing, but nothing too serious.

Paradise fish or Combtail Paradise fish,(no more than two),would be a good choice.
Instead of trying to pack and aquarium with bunches of fish, try to really study these two.
One fun thing to do would be totry finding or culturing live foods for these fish.Mosquito larvae are part of their natural prey.
I believe there is a website about live foods(livefoods.com)

Paradise fish are almost are like siamses fighting fish. They have another organ called labyrinth that lets them inhale Oxygen.

Paradise fish should be perfect in your tank as long as you don't keep males together.

If I were you, I would still stick for the dwarf gouramies and have a pair of them.
