how can you tell the difference between a real and fake designer handbag?

well, there are a lot of different styles of knock offs.

there are really bad knock offs that don't even follow the same pattern. For example, a fake LV will have 7V stamped around it, making it completely different. Or a Chanel will have Circles for the symbol. Those are quite common and really easy to spot because the symbols are completely different!

and then, there are better fakes. They follow the same pattern and simular material, but i guess the best way you can tell is by the quality. Or if you're super rich and you own a ton of them! :) But the quality is different, stitching may come off a bit rather than the bags you pay thousands of $$ for will not! as well, the material is different! im guessing that Coach and LV as well as other designer bags use real leather and fake ones only use pleather, which is one way. Chanel knock offs seem to be puffier than real ones..

I wouldn't be able to tell a knockoff unless it was really obvious, but if i were to compare one to a real one you'd be able to see subtle but noticeable differences! :)

sooo, i hope i helped you!! :) :)

ps if you were wondering, I LOVE FAKE DESIGNERS!!

Well to tell you the truth there are different kinds of knock-offs out there. Some are soo real looking others are just plain horrible and make you want to gag bad fashion. The best way to spot a fake is to study what the real version of the handbag is. Also ALWAYS buy your hand bag at a store its made by or like Dillard's, Macy's, or Saks to know its real. Check out the labels website too. PS: If its says made in China or Taiwan its so FAKE. I hope this helped and hope you pick me for best answer!! :-)

it's not always easy to spot a fake, but the stitching won't be as perfect on the outside and the lining inside the bag will be a cheaper fabric. the best way to tell is usually that if you're getting an insane deal, it's a fake.

strawberry- why would anyone throw $5000 away on a designer purse? the celebrities don't even buy them! marketing people give them to celebs to carry so YOU will see them with it and go buy it. i have much better things to spend my money on.

Real designer handbags are sold ONLY at department stores and have a hefty price tag. Knock offs are badly sewn and the fabric doesn't match up at the stripes or the quilting.

Yes - cheap fakes are very easy to spot. Cheap materials, shabby construction, details are off (pattern is cut awkwardly, stitching is poor, logos are flimsy), funny smell from glue or fake leather.

High end fakes/counterfeits are harder to discern. You can tell by the feel of the materials used & usually there is at least one detail that is off. The way the label is stitched on. A feature is missing. The leather doesn't feel as supple or the colors aren't rich.

Yea, sometimes the pattern on the fake isn't anything like the real but you just have to watch it closely...

Sorry, but the bag you purchased is a replica. That is not a real Gucci.
