I am an African American Man who thinks that racism is becoming boring and passe. I know my opinion will infuriate all of those who still cling to the "free sandwich" 'Race Card" mentality, but I happen to think that the silent majority agrees with me. Racism in this country is nowhere near as extreme as it was even forty years ago and I believe that there is nowhere that we cannot go within reason and that there is nothing that we cannot do, unless it is self-inflicted. Your thoughts?

yes I think so. I think some people need a simple lesson that I think we all learned as children- actions have consequences!! Plain and simple. If you don't want to get arrested then stop doing things that get you in that predictament.
I don't think the color of your skin should be used as a crutch- sorry. Maybe changing your behaviors and actions will change your outcomes and consequences!

Well I would agree that african americans have it better. I dont know if you have heard but Brown is the new black.
There are alot of people from india pakistan and other countries and it seems to me that whites and blacks seem to treat them badly. Not in a legal way the law is the law and it is on no way as bad as what blacks had to go through years ago when there was no law. But in spirit. I think we have far to go.
Me I am a Human being. I am from earth. That is what I Put on Forms because any other answer is racist.

I don't think there was ever a "race card". Implying that there is only validates those ppl who believe that every time a black person cries racism, they're pulling the "race card", when in fact there could really be some form of racism going on.

The free sandwich, race card mentality is there, but it does not take away from the actual cases of racist mentality.

You say you believe there is nowhere we cannot go, but I urge you to read the story of the Jena 6, about the boys who couldn't sit under the "white" tree & after they did there were nooses hung from the tree.

Are they pulling the race card?

I agree. Me being an african american female I see no use in holding on to the racism card.Lots of people say that because of their race will never make it in life, but tell me this; is it because of a race some one will never make it or because that idea is so imprinted in the heads of a race no one seems to try to rise above it?

i agree. people should stop playing the race card. there is still racism, but people should stop being oversensitive.

i saw a thing on the news where kids were being fined because their families yelled during graduation(they signed a contract that they wouldn't) and the kids were like "i think this is a racial thing, because the 4 kids who broke the contract were hispanic and black"
it was so stupid

Yeah, I agree, its almost like people are looking for someone to be discriminative towards them for no reason at all. I noticed it at a place I used to work. This lady accused one of my co-workers of being racist, she said that she wouldn't refund her money because she was black and she was really loud and everything. The funny thing is the my co-worker just married a black man, and lived in an all black community. You wouldn't think it to look at her. (The customer, didn't have the proper receipt for the items she was returning. just incase you were wondering how it all got started)

Yeh I agree, the race card is overly used way to much! I mean I understand if something happened thats racially motivated, but for the most part its just crap!

racism may not be as bad, but we still have a ways to go. i agree that race shouldn't be taken into consideration, but only to a certain point. you shouldn't forget who you are, your skin color is a beautiful and unique thing that you shouldnt just throw aside. i think it would be great if we wouldnt hate someone because of the color of their skin, or give them preferential treatment.
